Weaning my 1.5 year old felt impossible to me. I thought she would cry a lot and never sleep without milk… but slowly, in just a few days, things changed. 🤍 Day 1: I started gently talking to her about milk and slowly avoiding daytime feeds. I applied a little ginger juice so when she tried, she felt the bad taste and left it herself. I didn’t force her or scold her. I just hugged her, carried her in my arms, walked slowly, tapped her gently, and she slept peacefully in my arms for her daytime nap. Day 2: She asked for milk fewer times during the day. Whenever she asked, I repeated the same calm explanation and distracted her with cuddles, play, water, or snacks. Slowly she stopped asking in the daytime completely. Day 3: Night time was the hardest. I made sure her tummy was full before sleep. When she started feeling sleepy, I took her to bed and stayed close to her. She asked for milk, but again I calmly told her the same thing about milk not being there now. I rubbed her back, tapped her gently, and stayed patient. After 4–5 days, she slowly stopped asking for milk even at night. 🌙 This journey taught me that gentle consistency, patience, cuddles, and comfort can make weaning easier for both mom and baby. Every child is different, but sometimes they just need reassurance more than anything else. 🤍 #motherhoodjourney #weaningjourney #gentleparenting breastfeedingjourney weaningoff toddlermom momlife newmomlife motherhoodunplugged raisingkids momanddaughter parentingjourney reallifeparenting content creator, real mom experience, momtalk, weanoff
