⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 This Our Paradise: A Novel by Karan Mujoo is an emotional and heartfelt read which keeps the readers hooked till the end. The story revolves around an eight-year-old Kashmiri Pandit boy and a Kashmiri Muslim boy named Shahid. This book shows how everything was affected by the 90s Kashmir conflict. This is a simple yet powerful read. The author's rich prose makes everything vivid. The writing style is unique and flawless. The language used is lucid and easy to understand. This is a gripping tale about home and identity. This book explores how so many people lost their homes and loved ones. This book shows us how some people use religion for their benefit. They also influence young generations in the wrong direction. I hated Syed Sahab, a rabble-rouser, who wants to overthrow the Indian state. This book stays with me even after the last page. I was in so much pain and literally cried while reading some parts. The author shows us the lives of two different Kashmiri families. I felt every emotion while reading this book. Such a powerful read which keeps us glued to the page. Overall, I loved this book and would strongly recommend it to all.
