I love Thailand. The food, the people, the way everyone seems to carry themselves with a quiet sense of respect and ease; there’s something about it that makes you want to slow down and just take it all in. Especially on the smaller islands, where life moves with the tides and tourism blends into everyday hospitality. But honestly, one of my favorite things about Thailand? 7/11. Yes, really. They’re everywhere; on every corner, sometimes right across from each other. Think of them like general stores for the Thai janta. But there’s something about them that I can’t quite explain. Maybe it’s the soft jingle of the door, or the way everything’s neatly arranged. Maybe it’s the drinks you don’t see back home, or the hot food that somehow hits the spot every single time. I’ve been to Thailand multiple times, and a 7/11 stop is always part of the plan. Here are three things I always grab: 1) Thai Red Bull Comes in a small glass bottle with Thai script and two bulls on the label. It’s just smooth, strong, and surprisingly good. 2) Flavoured Fanta They’ve got a few varieties, and they’re all worth a try: • Strawberry (Red) • Fruit (Green) – it’s a bit of a mystery flavor, but in a good way • Grape (Purple) 3) Milo You’ll find it everywhere; tetra packs, ice cream bars, powder sachets. There’s Ovaltine too, but I always go for Milo. P.S. I never buy any of this back home in India. So next time you’re in Thailand, do yourself a favor; walk into a 7/11, browse the shelves, try something new and thank me later. You’ll get it.
