#ManipalVisits #ImmersionProgram September 1,2022: Starting off the new month with a new zeal, students of 2nd course Indian Cuisine and Food Culture had the opportunity to visit Janani Goshala, Sri Manjunatha Nilaya and the famous Shetty’s Lunch Home. In today’s world of rapid commercialisation and fast food that has extensively altered our lives, it is quite important that we take a step aside to revisit our roots, understand the nature that made us who we are and realise the importance of organic produce. It is thus the responsibility of this generation to raise the general public's awareness of the need for the new human being to reestablish a connection with the traditional ways. The visit to Janani Goshala and Sri Manjunatha Nilaya with Mr. Ajith Nayak and Mr. Daya was truly an eye opener and made the students understand the importance of local breed cattle, and the variety of products that can be procured. The students then had the opportunity to visit the Shetty's Lunch Home.The Bunt community in Mangalore is the home of the renowned Kundapur Chicken Ghee Roast, which Shetty's Lunch Home is credited with popularising.
