One fab thing I did this month? Watched Metro In Dino. Movie paglu that I am, went to see it on 5th—the day my car decided to get a little banged up 😭. But even with the lamentable dent in my boot, walked out of 🎥 with eight songs etched into my brain, feeling lighter than I have in ages. Millennial hearts have healed with this one movie; drenched our parched souls like the July rains. Gen Zs may be sorted. They seem to be living in a different universe. They know how to draw boundaries, actually saying ‘No’ without guilt! Unlike us, they don’t appear burdened by the need of constant performativity & over-achieving, desperately seeking validation in the guise of love or approval. And here’s the wild part—they believe in things like ‘work-life balance,’ ‘mental health,’ ‘therapy.’ (Side note: we’ve finally caught up—yes, we’re drinking that Kool-Aid too 😳). Plus, they believe- do what your heart whispers, as per your own terms. Crazy 🙄! As 90s kids, we may not be adept at these things. But we did have movies that felt like a cozy hug, music that sounded like raindrops tapping against an open window on a rainy morning. We are the resilient generation—trudging along, secretly proud of our stamina. We don’t age, and nothing seems to shake us. We’re out here doing breathing exercises, perfecting 10-step skincare routines, snagging sales on stuff we don’t need, all while being workplace bosses while ordering tomatoes, cilantro, & a mixer grinder from Zepto, like it’s just another Tuesday. All this, with a giant smile plastered on our faces—hiding the chaos behind the calm. And then, Arijit Singh and Pritam drop these tracks. Now we’re looping them on repeat, unsure which lyric to obsess over next. The track ‘Aur mohabbat kitni karoon’ triggering with each line. Seriously, go watch this movie if you haven’t yet. Anurag Basu’s storytelling, the cast, the songs—♥️. So many reasons to fall for it. It might not be ‘perfect,’ but honestly, perfect was never the point. You’ll end up loving at least one character, probably all of them. And guess what? I asked around and the Gen Zs are into it too. #metroindino #moviereview #metroindinoreview #delhigirl
