Ziffiichess raised funding… but here’s the problem. In India, Real Money Gaming (RMG) is now banned under the Online Gaming Bill 2025. So if they’re trying to do: 👉 Free-to-play → tough to monetize, CAC vs LTV mismatch. 👉 Real money chess → already illegal. That puts them in a tight spot: • Hard to survive on ads or freemium in India. • RMG pivot is blocked by law. • Expansion outside India? Expensive and competitive. 📌 Lesson for founders: Before building in gaming, always check the regulatory risk.
