Travelling solo changed my life. It saved my life. And no, I didn’t choose it to prove anything. I chose it because for the first time… I finally decided to choose myself. When I left home after 12th grade, I knew nothing about this world. Just a girl trying to survive, the city, the industry, the chaos, the relationships… somewhere chasing validation. Wanting people to believe I was something. But then travel happened. Backpacking happened. And suddenly, life became simpler. Less was enough. No plan started becoming the best plan. Everyone thinks solo travel is daring. Honestly? You just step out once. Then slowly, without even realising, you become braver. Fearless… not overnight, but over miles. I met real people. People who didn’t care about my job or achievements only whether I had eaten, whether I needed help, whether I’d like to join them for chai. That’s when I learnt home isn’t just one place. Home is a feeling you discover again & again in new cities, new faces, new stories. I used to hold on to so many things material stuff, comfort, a fixed definition of home. But the more I travelled, the lighter I wanted to be. So I let it all go. And for the first time… I felt truly free. Every journey introduces me to a newer version of myself. And every time I return, I come back with more people I can call home. Today, I’m living the life I once only dreamed of. It’s surreal. It’s grounding. It’s mine. Some things aren’t coincidences.
