Surf’s up… and so was my fear! I spent 5 days surfing w @aquaticindicasurfschool in Mulki & what a ride it was. Though I’ve always loved being near the beach, stepping into the ocean was a different story. The idea of getting in used to scare me. But this time, I chose to face that fear head-on. Day 1: The ocean slapped me with its big waves. I fell. Drank a good amount of salt water. For a second, I thought I was done. But I wasn’t. Something in me said- I’m not giving up. Maybe that’s just how the ocean teaches you — it humbles you, shakes you up a bit & then asks you to calm down and try again. Lesson one: respect the sea, trust the process. That first day was about building a connection with the water- playful, wild & a little terrifying. My heartbeat was off the charts, but eventually, I found calm in the chaos. I started to relax. To breathe. To feel part of it. And then, something magical happened… I stood up on the board! @sachin_nayakkk our instructor, was amazing. He made sure all his student felt safe and supported. His teaching style was all about ease, encouragement & fun. By Day 5, I was running into the waves like I belonged there. The sun, the tan lines, the slips, the laughs, the quiet moments floating in the middle of the sea, paddling hard to catch my own wave, it all became part of my rhythm. I didn’t just learn to surf. I learned to fall, to rise & to ride through fear. And I’d do it all over again. . .
