The mountains deserve better. Since the day I arrived, all I’ve seen is waste everywhere carelessly thrown by those who claim to love nature. Yet, no one talks about it. And when someone does, instead of support, they’re called crazy. We dream of visiting beautiful places, admire them from afar, & long to experience them. But once we’re there, do we act responsibly? We wouldn’t litter in our own homes so why do we treat nature any differently? Organizations like Healing Himalayas work tirelessly to clean up what others leave behind, but why should it always fall on a few? Respecting nature isn’t a favor it’s a responsibility. If we truly love the places we visit, shouldn’t we start treating them like home? Let’s respect the land that gives us so much.
