Varanasi to me is raw and real — whether you like it or not, that’s just how it is. It doesn’t try to impress you; it simply is. And in its chaos, smoke, chants & silence, you start to find a strange kind of peace. This city made me feel alive in every breath. I could feel my own presence — aware, grounded, grateful — to simply be in this moment, to experience, to exist. I walked so much here, through narrow lanes, ghats, and crowds. Yet I never really felt tired. There’s something in the air — it calms you down. Maybe it’s the prayers, maybe the Ganga breeze, or maybe the truth that everyone here seems to have already accepted life n death as one. In Varanasi, I became a child again. I forgot the weight of the big world. I lived, I laughed, I played, I explored. I made friends. I smiled without a reason. Everything felt simple and real. And then there was Kali Ma — right there. Going to her felt like returning home. I don’t think I’ve felt that kind of quiet happiness in a long time. There’s a power in her presence — one that reminds you of your own strength, your own softness. I was genuinely happy in Varanasi. So happy that when I got my return ticket for work, I cried — like a little kid who doesn’t want to go to school. But maybe that’s what Varanasi does to you — it breaks you open just enough to remind you that you’re alive, breathing & part of something ancient, sacred n beautifully human.
