Mukherjee avoids unnecessary flourishes, choosing clarity over literary experimentation. While this makes the book accessible and fast-paced, it occasionally sacrifices atmospheric detail that could have heightened the suspense. The book succeeds in its ability to keep readers engaged through cleverly constructed puzzles and unexpected resolutions. It is less about psychological depth and more about intellectual satisfaction—making it an enjoyable read for fans of classic whodunits.
