The prettiest place in Morocco… that smells like a nightmare. 🌿👃 Welcome to Chouara Tannery, a 1,000-year-old tradition in the heart of the Fes Medina. Since the 11th century, they’ve been using the exact same methods to produce the world’s finest leather but there’s a catch. Before you enter, the locals hand you a sprig of fresh mint. Why? Because the “secret sauce” for softening camel, goat, and cow hides includes: Pigeon droppings 🐦 Cow urine 🐄 Quicklime & Salt 🧂 The result? A pungent, ammonia-heavy scent that hits you the moment you step onto the terrace.
