Mili's Post

Deeply felt, extensively observed, an in-depth moving story that portrayed mental health issues from another angle. No, this is not your regular work stress, not relationship trauma, its borderline claustrophobic narration. A masterfully crafted story of childhood struggle would leave severe scar in mind. This book makes me speechless, honestly speaking, the way it's written, I felt like it is a true story. This is a story(novel) about what happens when survival mode becomes your entire life. About the courage it takes to admit you're drowning even when you look like you're swimming. About the night, two siblings lay on a hard floor and discussed whether ending it all would be easier than continuing. But it's also about what comes after you finally ask for help. Set in Mumbai, After 28: What Remains? It is a raw, unflinching exploration of trauma, masculinity, and the messy, non-linear journey of healing. It's about learning to forgive yourself, your parents, even those who destroyed you. About transforming pain into purpose. About discovering that you don't have to be "fixed" to be worthy of love. "What remains after loss is not just wreckage. It's also the stubborn human capacity to rebuild." A brave attempt to survive that eventually creates a delicate hollow in Sarvesh's life. His triumph over life transformed into defeat which was never expected. But who cares about the inside picture, people glorify the struggle and success and forget to mention the cost. Romanticizing hardwork and struggle became a sickness in society, this book uncovered the unsaid unseen prize that every struggling person has going through. Kudos to the author for writing such story. Amazing concept and brilliantly conveyed the message. Highly recommended for all.
