Vile Parle East has way more South Indian food power than people give it credit for. Everyone talks about Arya Bhavan and Jeevan and honestly, they deserve it. Their idli, vada, sambar combo has that legacy vibe that hits every generation. That’s why the crowd keeps coming back. But here’s what most people are missing: @south_indian_brahmin_cafe is serving Davangere Benne Dosa and Sri Lankan Curry Idli—stuff you won’t easily find anywhere else in Mumbai. People come here from Thane and Navi Mumbai just to eat this. Near the station, @udupidosaka is famous for Vile Parle’s longest dosa—big enough for two people. Proper hidden gem. @radhakrishna.restaurant near Adarsh Petrol Pump is new, premium, spacious, and still affordable. But people are so stuck on Jeevan that they don’t even look here. @maniscafefoodie is building its own fanbase because of super fast service and their ghee podi idli—easily one of the best podi idlis in Parle, even though not everything on the menu hits. ramkrishna might not be everyone’s first choice for South Indian anymore, but the legacy is still strong and their filter coffee is still iconic. @udupi2mumbai has a crazy fanbase too—but mostly for North Indian food, just like RK. In terms of dining experience and consistency, they’re still right at the top. End of the day—Arya Bhavan and Jeevan have that aura.
