1️⃣ Stay near Chichoga and not Mall Road Staying right on Mall Road may sound convenient, but it is usually the most crowded and overpriced area in Manali. Hotels there often charge more for smaller rooms, and there is constant noise, traffic restrictions, and heavy tourist rush throughout the day and evening. Instead, look for stays near Chichoga. It is roughly 1.5 km from Mall Road, so you can easily walk to the market whenever you want, while also enjoying mountain views at more reasonable prices. 2️⃣ Try travel volunteering in Manali to stay for free Many hostels, homestays, cafés, and small properties offer free accommodation and meals in exchange for a few hours of help each day. This could include content creation, photography, social media support, guest handling, artwork, or basic property tasks, depending on your skills. Comment “FREE” and I will share the travel volunteering opportunities. 3️⃣ Not checking traffic conditions before planning your days Manali routes often face heavy jams, especially toward Solang, Atal Tunnel, and Rohtang side. If possible, try planning your day as early as 8–9 am. 4️⃣ Rent a scooter if you can ride instead of renting cabs If you are comfortable riding, renting a scooter can save both time and money in Manali. Cabs often get stuck in long traffic jams, especially on Solang and tunnel side routes, while scooters can move through gaps and side lanes more easily. 5️⃣ Assuming Rohtang Pass is always open Rohtang access depends on weather and permits, and it is frequently closed. Many travelers plan their entire trip around it and get disappointed. Therefore, keep Solang Valley, Atal Tunnel side, and other spots as backup plans in case you find Rohtang Pass closed. 6️⃣ Pre-booking adventure or snow packages without checking locally. Many online snow and activity packages are marked up. On-ground counters at Solang often offer better rates and custom combos. 7️⃣ Ignoring altitude and motion sickness on mountain routes Carry motion sickness tablets, drink water regularly, and avoid heavy meals before long drives to stay comfortable. 📌Save & Share this for your Manali Trip.
