
While travelling in North Sikkim, I noticed something interesting. My watch was showing India’s time, but my iPhone switched to China’s time zone. India follows IST (UTC +5:30), while China follows CST (UTC +8:00). That’s a difference of 2 hours 30 minutes. Because North Sikkim is so close to the Chinese border, mobile networks sometimes connect to Chinese signals, which can automatically change the phone’s time zone.
