Autonomous parking is getting so common that people still don’t realize when a car is moving on its own. Here, a woman tried to block a reversing car, thinking someone was backing into the spot. Only after stepping in front of it did she notice it was fully self-parking. These systems use sensors, cameras, radar and live mapping to judge distance and guide the car with precise steering, throttle and braking. What looks surprising today is simply a glimpse of how everyday parking will feel as more brands roll out driverless features.
