:: MAHAVIRA SWAMI JAIN TEMPLE :: Day 72 - #ProjectKolkata . Location: Near Khanna, Kolkata . Established in 1868, the Sri Mahavira Swami Jain temple in Kolkata was founded by Sukhlal Johari, a member of the Johari Sath community. It boasts a spacious courtyard and British-style ceramic tile construction, featuring a large bell in Portuguese design. The temple houses three "Gambhara"s, with the main deity being Mahavira Swami in Mulagambhara, accompanied by six idols of Jain Tirthankara. The right-side Gambhara honours Tirthankar Adinath, while idols of Gautam Swami and Parshwa Padmavati, along with others, are present. The newly constructed Gambhara on the left is dedicated to Dadaguru Deva. Managed by Smt.
