:: HOWRAH BRIDGE :: Day 71 - #ProjectKolkata . Location: Banks of Hooghly, Kolkata . When you think about Kolkata, what struck your mind? It would be either Victoria Memorial or this unique bridge. Howrah Bridge is a suspension-type balanced cantilever and truss arch made out of steel. Officially known as Rabindra Setu, this bridge is the lifeline of Kolkata and Howrah, connecting them both since the 1940s. When inaugurated in 1943, it was the third-longest cantilever bridge in the world.
