Just a phase !! Is it ?? 🤰🤰 Giving birth was something and now this ?? During pregnancy, high estrogen levels keep hair in a prolonged growth phase (anagen), preventing normal shedding. This is why many women experience thicker, shinier hair. 🎀🎀 After delivery, estrogen levels drop suddenly, and all the hair that was “paused” in the growth phase starts shedding at once. This phase is called telogen effluvium, which is a temporary shedding of hair after a major physical change (like childbirth). ✨✨✨ The main cause of postpartum hair loss is hormonal changes, which happen regardless of how you deliver. However: • C-section moms might notice more hair loss if they experience higher stress levels, anesthesia effects, or slower recovery. • Normal delivery moms go through the same hormonal shift but may recover faster depending on their body’s healing process. When Does It Start and When Does It Stop? • Starts: Around 2-4 months postpartum (some notice it earlier, especially after breastfeeding reduces). • Peaks: Between 4-6 months postpartum when the shedding is most noticeable. • Stops: Usually by 6-12 months postpartum, when new hair growth starts balancing out the loss.
