Kajol is one of the most versatile actresses in the Hindi film industry. Now, the legal drama is back with a new season, The Trial Season 2. Now that Season 2 of The Trial has been released on JioHotstar, let’s dive in to see if it is worth watching or not. Before delving into the plotline of The Trial Season 2, let’s have a quick recap of the previous season. The first season of The Trial introduced ‘Noyonika Sengupta’ (played by Kajol) as a law graduate, who sacrificed her career to become a full-time homemaker and raise her two daughters. However, her life took a drastic turn when her husband, ‘Rajiv Sengupta’ (played by Jisshu Sengupta), was caught in a s*x and corruption scandal and sent behind bars. With no other choices left, ‘Noyonika’ returned to the world, which she once owned as a junior lawyer, to support her family. Along the way, she struggled to balance both her professional and personal responsibilities and dealt with constant humiliation for her husband’s scandal. The Trial Season 2 begins right from where Season 1 ends. ‘Noyonika’ is no longer a hesitant lawyer. She has transformed herself into a confident and assertive law professional, who is capable of taking up complex and high-profile cases. She now works alongside ‘Vishal Chaubey’ (played by Alyy Khan), ‘Malini Khanna’ (played by Sheeba Chaddha), and ‘Param Munjal’ (played by Karanvir Sharma). Meanwhile, ‘Rajiv’ has stepped into politics, and is preparing hard to contest elections against the powerful opponent, ‘Narayani Dhole’ (played by Sonali Kulkarni). The new season kicks off with ‘Noyonika’ and ‘Rajiv’s’ younger daughter, ‘Anaira’, being hospitalised after she has a panic attack, due to her parents’ constant heated arguments and fights.
