#traveldiaries Today’s pics are from our day trip to Gobustan , which s situated 85-90 kms away from Baku.The ride enroute was certainly joyous as we kept njoying the beautiful site / scenery of the country side. This place offers a fascinating blend of prehistoric art, unique geological formations. The Rock art museum is one of the big attractions as it depicts prehistoric human culture. The site also contains remnants of caves, settlements, and burial sites from the Upper Paleolithic to the Middle Ages . M The day we visited it was very very windy with speeds of 50/55 kmph & we were freezing, but I must say it was an absolute enthralling experience..There was a kiveky cafe where we sipped on our hot hot coffee and baklava !!! From here we took a trip up the volcano mountains with a crazy local driver playing Mithunda’s popular Jimmy Jimmy wala song in full blast... most amazing experience of liquid mud and small small live volcanoes everywhere. These geological wonders emit mud and gas, creating otherworldly landscapes.
