#traveldiaries Today am sharing glimpses of Old City of Baku, known as Icherisheher, a historical enclave nestled on the southern shore of the Caspian Sea . The city reflects a blend of Zoroastrian, Sassanian, Arabic, Persian, Shirvani, Ottoman, and Russian influences, resulting in a unique and harmonious architectural ensemble . The entire city is guarded by a huge wall & it nearly covers up 3000 acres of land & we certainly hired a golf cart car & toured around the city which was an absolute joyous ride for us & nearly completed the tour in 45 minutes .There were lots of cozy cafes, artisan shops, and local markets where we laid our hands on handmade crafts and souvenirs.
