🚖 Hyderabad to introduce Pod Taxis for improved last-mile connectivity @hyderabadlocals 📍 The Telangana government and Hyderabad Metro Rail are planning to introduce Pod Taxis (Personal Rapid Transit) to solve the city’s last-mile travel challenges, especially for metro commuters.  ✅These will be driverless electric pods on dedicated elevated tracks that operate independently of road traffic.  ✅Each pod can carry about 6–8 passengers and travel up to around 40 km/h, offering a fast, eco-friendly, and seamless connection.  ✅The system is expected to link metro stations directly with key areas like Raidurg – Hitech City, Kukatpally, Financial District, Knowledge City and Secretariat zones where last-mile gaps currently make travel inconvenient.  ✅It will be developed under a public-private partnership (DBFOT), with feasibility studies and consultant appointments underway.  ✅Pod taxis aim to reduce dependency on autos and buses from metro stations and could potentially serve around 10,000 passengers per hour once operational.
