Komaravelli Mallanna Jathara 2026 🙏🏻 📍Siddipet, Telangana The grand Komaravelli Mallanna Jathara is one of Telangana’s most revered and long standing folk temple festivals, celebrated at the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Komuravelli village, Siddipet district about ~100 km from Hyderabad. This sacred festival draws lakhs of devotees from across Telangana and neighbouring states every year.  ✨ Festival Overview: 🔹 The Jathara spans around 58–70+ days, beginning every year after Sankranti and continuing until the Sunday before Ugadi.  🔹 The festivities kick off with Celestial Kalyanam (divine wedding) of Lord Mallanna with his consorts at the temple, marking the start of the jathara season.  ✨ Rituals & Celebrations: 🔥 Patnam Varam: First major ritual after Sankranti 🔥 Bonalu & Patnalu: Devotional offerings made by devotees 🔥 Peddapatnam & Agnigundalu: Unique and dramatic traditions where devotees symbolically step over sacred designs and fire pits as part of their vows and prayers.  🔹 Many devotees offer turmeric (bandari), coconuts, flowers, and clay symbols of wishes fulfilled.  🔹 Traditional Oggu Katha singing narrates the story of Mallanna and his divine exploits in folklore.  ✨ Temple & Access Info: 🛕 The temple sits atop a hill and houses a centuries-old idol of Lord Mallanna (Mallikarjuna Swamy, a folk form of Shiva).  📅 Temple daily timings: 5 AM to 10 PM (extended on Sundays and festival days). Darshan is free for all devotees.  ✨ Cultural Importance: This jathara isn’t just a festival, it’s a deep spiritual and cultural experience, blending devotion, local folklore, music and rituals.
