
A 3rd generation Chinese family has been quietly living in Bangalore for decades. Today, they’re serving their family recipes out of a 26-seater in Koramangala. I went to try Bao To Me’s new menu this week and honestly, it was one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in a while. The chef left his tech job to build this place around the food he grew up eating and you can feel that story across the menu. The Char Siu Bao is non-negotiable. The Dan Dan Mian is rich, spicy, deeply comforting and nothing like the usual “Chinese” you find around Koramangala. Even the dessert bao basket comes straight from his mother’s recipe book.
