If you’re coming out of T1 at Bangalore Airport, you’ll often hear people saying that Ola or Uber is on strike and that you should book an airport taxi with them, which is costly. Only Uber Comfort and Uber Black are usually available, and they are even more expensive. Don’t believe such people, because if you go straight from the arrival gate to the regular pick-up point gates, you will get misled. If you are planning to book Rapido, they will most likely ask for extra cash since it has a lower rate card. I’ve faced this many times. Solution: Book Uber Go — the pick-up point is near the bus stand. From the arrival gate, take a right, pass the Subway inside the Punjab Grill food court, keep moving forward, and you’ll find the bus stand area where Uber and Ola pick-ups happen. You’ll also see a lot of people waiting in queue there for their cabs. The best solution from my side is to book Namma Yatri as soon as you leave the arrival gate. You’ll find Namma Yatri pick-up points from Gate 8 to 15. Or just speak to your driver — they’ll guide you to the correct pick-up gate. It’s very easy, economical, and convenient.
