Shah-i-Zinda called Shohizinda; means “The Living King”) is a necropolis in the north-eastern part of Samarkand, Uzbekistan.⁣ ⁣ Shah-i-Zinda is probably the most Instagrammed place in Uzbekistan. The architecture is a sight to behold with intricate tiles work.⁣ ⁣ Once you go to this place in Samarkand you will be transformed by the beauty of this place.⁣ ⁣ The Shah-i-Zinda Ensemble includes mausoleums and other ritual buildings of 11th – 15th and 19th centuries. The name Shah-i-Zinda (meaning “The living king”) is connected with the legend that Qutham ibn Abbas, a cousin of Muhammad, is buried here.
