PART 4 (THE FINALE) As I was chatting with my friend (765 RS owner), I told him how I was struggling to find a clean bike and how horrible the state of some of the used 765s was. That’s when he said the golden words that left a grin on my face: “Why don’t you buy my bike?” He told me he had tried touring on the 765, didn’t have any plans for track days, and it just didn’t feel right for his purposes. He was planning to get a big adventure bike to better suit his purpose. My next question was about the price and his number was right in my ballpark! We halted the chat there and I went home in sheer disbelief that I was about to pull the pin. Little did I know there was an issue I was totally forgetting about: selling the RC 390. The next month went by trying to do that and to my surprise, there were barely any serious buyers. Half the people were lowballing while the others showed interest but never showed up. This was becoming a big hiccup and that’s when I started thinking, could I borrow money from somewhere? Should I take a bigger loan? Or should I just postpone altogether? I decided I’d simply borrow some money from my parents and exhaust a little more of my savings, without bumping the loan (why pay extra interest?). The final math was: Purchase price - Rs 6.75 lakh Loan - Rs 3.5 lakh Savings - Rs 2.5 lakhs Borrowed - Rs 75,000 (to be paid back after selling the RC later) With the math now mathing again, I visited my friend’s place three times in the next month. First two were to take thorough test rides, and the final time to bring the bike home. Riding back from his place on MY Street Triple felt surreal. The howl, the power delivery, the feel of realising everyone is looking at you. It all felt like a dream come true. And it was indeed a dream come true. This opened many new doors for me and introduced me to excellent people, which helped me step up in life. It also helped me do something else: bring home an RSV4 a couple of years later. That’s a story for another day😉 {how to buy a superbike in india, superbikes, fast bikes, triumph street triple, street triple, 765 rs, triumph, buying a superbike, used superbi
