Not only because I take my Jhumkas very personally but it is ironical the hatred south asians get in the western world and on the other hand big fashion brands draw inspiration from South Asian rich cultural heritage. What is sad here is that it is being rebranded and not credited where it is coming from 🥲 Just like the twisted versions of Yoga, Pranayama, Ayurveda, Kolhapuri chappals, now Dupatta being called as Scandinavian scarf and jhumka as Vintage jewellery by Ralph and Lauren.🤷🏻‍♀️ we all try and follow the beauty of different cultures and its great but let’s give South Asian craftsmanship the credit it deserves.
