I often wonder why progress for women still feels so fragile? We speak of equality, opportunity and safety, and yet so many women are still negotiating dignity, fair practices and inclusivity in everyday life at the workplace, at home and within systems that were never fully designed for them. It almost feels overwhelming to witness the headlines, the setbacks, the injustice and sometimes the hardest part is not knowing what to do with that concern. I feel honoured to be shortlisted as a participant for CSW70 with UN Women UK to show support to the mission - The UN’s largest annual gathering on women’s rights and gender equality. This year’s theme centres on ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls, alongside promoting inclusive legal systems and eliminating discriminatory practices. The event runs from March 9–19, 2026, offering digital participation for UK residents. It’s open, free and accessible online. If you’ve been feeling concerned or quietly protective about the future of women’s rights, this is something you can actually be part of. The application deadline is Monday 16 February and details can be found at @unwomenuk #csw70 #unwomenuk #internationalwomensday2026 #genderequality
