On July 22, 1947, at the national level, the Constituent Assembly of India officially adopted our tricolor flag. Pingali Venkayya, the architect of our national flag, belonged to the erstwhile Krishna district. During the All India Congress Committee meeting held in Vijayawada in 1921, he presented his flag design to Mahatma Gandhi.
