If you’re looking for an authentic Punjabi Cuisine, @bhangrachennai at ECR, Kanathur is the right place. Spearheaded by @navtej_36 paaji, I was wanting to visit this place for few months. Finally I had an opportunity today to visit with my family. We had a great welcome. Also had a good chance to converse with Navtej ji in his office. He had also joined us and ordered some best dishes. It began with 1) Sweet Lassi which was so thick and tasty followed by 2) Chicken Lasooni Tikka which is marinated for 6 hours and then is cooked. The flesh was so soft and tasty. It tasted even more better with Tamarind & Chilli sauce. 3) Garlic Butter Naan 4) We had item 3 with home made carrot pickle (done with mustard oil) & also with Daal Makhni & 5) Mutton Kaara. Mutton Kaara is the ultimate with good number of mutton pieces and the gravy was so good. I was told it was the dish prepared by the horse riders who stay in the border of Afghanistan. Meat was so tender and tasty. 6) Chicken Pulao. Though this was similar to Biryani we were told that this is made with less oil and in tawa. The taste was impeccable. All done with excellent service from the staff and personal attention given to us by Paaji. We had a wonderful noon. Looking forward to visit them again. Please note the restaurant has not hiked the prices despite huge increase in gas bills. Quality and Quantity is not compromised. Give it a try by supporting small business.
