The most surreal temple I saw in Chiang Rai 🤍🐉 Wat Huay Pla Kang is one of those places that doesn’t feel real the moment you arrive. From the massive Guan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) statue to the dramatic white temple guarded by giant dragons… everything here feels straight out of a fantasy. I visited in the evening, and honestly… the vibe was completely different. As the sun started going down, the temple slowly lit up, and the whole place felt calm, peaceful, and almost magical ✨ ⸻ TRAVEL INFO & TIPS 🧭 • Located around 20–30 minutes from Chiang Rai city center — best reached via car or Grab • The entire temple complex is free to enter (very budget-friendly) • The area is quite spacious, so keep 1–2 hours to explore properly • Don’t miss: – The 9-tier pagoda for panoramic views – The inside of the Guan Yin statue (you can take a lift to the top for ~40 THB) – The iconic dragon staircase (perfect photo spot 🐉) • Dress code: – Shoulders & knees should be covered inside temple buildings – Carry a shawl or scarf just in case ⸻ Best time to visit? • Sunrise = soft golden light + possible mist (very dreamy) • Evening (what I experienced) = fewer crowds + peaceful + beautifully lit surroundings 🌙 ⸻ If you’re planning a trip to Chiang Rai, don’t skip this one… it’s not just a temple, it’s an experience.
