🙏🏻Lord Krishna, before leaving for his heavenly abode Vaikuntha, told his devotee Uddhava that he would send his idol to be worshipped by Brhaspathi (Guru) and Vayu Deva (Wind God) in a safe place, forming the name “Guruvayur” The Guruvayur Temple is a 5,000-year-old, ancient Hindu shrine in Kerala dedicated to Guruvayurappan. According to legend, the idol was worshipped by Vishnu in Vaikuntha, later gifted to Brahma, and eventually brought to this site by Gurubrihaspati and Vayu Deva. It is a premier pilgrimage site known for its rich spiritual legacy. The idol was created by Lord Vishnu in Vaikuntha. It was later given to King Sutapas and his wife Prishni, who performed intense penance to have a child like Narayana. In their next birth, they worshipped this same idol. #guruvayoor #guruvayur #guruvayoorappan #liltravelstories #thrissur
