Butrint National park, located in Vlore county of southern Albania, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It comprises a prominent archaeological site, lakes, castles, a Roman Basilica, Roman theatre and large expanses of forest lands and marsh lands. The archaeological site is very prominent and provides historical remains from the Iron Age upto the middle ages. This is a great day trip option from Sarande and is just a 45 minutes drive.
