Daughter: Mumma, you spent your whole life in the village raising us… Come, I’ll take you out now. Let’s go to Rishikesh… or at least come to Mumbai. I’ve lived here for so many years and you never came…. You never traveled in train or flight Maa: No beta… when the kids get settled… when everyone gets married… then I’ll think about it…. You save your money for later Mumma did come to Mumbai… but in an ambulance. This was my biggest childhood fear…that one day I would have to take a family member in an ambulance. And that day came. Me and both my sisters travelled 12 hours from Indore to Mumbai… in an ambulance… with our mother. (Papa is a heart patient, so we didn’t bring him.) Seeing the person you love the most in pain… nothing hurts more than that. When doctors say “these are the last few months”, the trauma from that day till the very last day… stays with you forever. It’s been 17 months, but everything still flashes in front of my eyes… her unfulfilled wishes, her smiling face even in pain, Her hope to get back home n start living with her family…. She wasn’t educated…. Whatever we told her during her treatment of cancer ( 3 years)… she believed in that… ( mumma aap theek ho jaoge n ghar pr sab acha ho jayega) Papa’s tear-filled eyes… and my heartbeat still races remembering it. After losing a parent, nothing ever feels the same… no matter how far you go in life. My mother fought till her last breath, smiling… only for her kids. I don’t believe in God anymore… But if the concept of rebirth is true, I hope I get only one thing in every lifetime to be born as your daughter again. ❤️ I love you so much…. N miss you every second of the day💝 #Maa
