⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cursed destinies, fractured kingdoms, and a girl fated to kill the man she must marry—J.F. Johns weaves a tale where peace is only an illusion, and love may cost the world. Mal, the fourth-born princess of the Kingdom of Darkness, is no ordinary royal. Forced into a political marriage with the infamous Fire Prince—a union meant to restore peace—she carries a secret mission: to kill her new husband and stop a deadly curse no one believes is real. But inside the House of Flames, nothing is simple. As secrets rise and loyalties blur, Mal becomes ensnared in a game much bigger than she imagined—one where love, power, and vengeance collide. It had been a while since I found a fantasy novel that fully drew me in like this. Written in third-person, the narrative offers a deeper dive into both Mal’s internal struggle and the emotional complexity of the supporting cast. The pacing is deliberate, at times slower, but the character development and atmospheric tension make it worthwhile. Mal is a fierce, emotionally layered heroine. Ash, the prince with a damaged past, stands out as a beautifully flawed counterpart. Wren and Kai add further richness to an already strong ensemble. The world-building occasionally feels incomplete, the glimpses we get—eight kingdoms with unique traits, cultures, eye colors, animals, and magical systems—are vivid enough to spark imagination. Though some parts feel a little predictable, and the ending may come too fast, but it delivers. Just when you think you know where the story is going, it flips. The final betrayal left me reeling. A story of curses and crowns, duty and danger—this one is for fans of slow-burn fantasy with sharp edges and emotional stakes. @jfjohnsbooks has built a world that demands a return, and I’ll be there for the next chapter. #bookreviewer #bookreview #fantasybooks #faebook #rom #romance #read #bookaholic #reader #india #readingcommunity #writtingcommunity #instagram #love #bookdragon #booklover #bookrecommendations #bookcommunity #bookishlove @netgalley
