When my boy started school in 2016, I looked at my house and saw it, like 'really saw it', for the first time after T.W.O years. It was disgusting. The once white walls were smeared with colorful handprints, and chipped from rough encounters with brutal furniture dragging. The couch was soiled, soaked in god-knows-what substances of childhood. Piss, puke, yogurt, maybe. The main living room was strewn with toys and pieces of defunct, half swallowed, half spit-ty games. There wasn’t an adult item in sight, a single book or any other item that represented who I was other than the mother of a boy! The issue isn't about filth. I was seeing something else, something your naked eye could have missed. The reality of what I had let go of in order to get through a period of time..a period of time that wasn’t simply the six weeks of postpartum I was warned about, or the 12 months of breastfeeding. No, this was an overall effect, repercussions of the initial years of giving myself over to the chaos of being a mother with limited help and an underlying problem of being an independent, a free-spirited woman! Now, with another born, I feel like I must soak in every single emotion. The boys and their chaos. I’d be very lucky if they reciprocate with the same intensity. And even if they don’t, I must not not think about ‘my’ future. Kids outgrow. They are yours, but those emotions aren’t forever. They become memories of madness, chaos, love and so much hope… sometimes forgotten, sometimes left unsaid♥️ #Motherhood #MomLife #mommy #motherhoodindia #motherhoodthroughinstagram #momlifenow #momlifebelike #mummylife #thechampatree #thechampatreeblog
