The stigma around so called “Advanced Maternal Age” I see SO many posts from expecting women (over 35) worrying about their age and having complications as a result. We are perfectly capable of having NORMAL and UNCOMPLICATED pregnancies, weather we are 27 or 40. I see these posts from women almost putting themselves down for having children in their late 30’s, and it drives me insane! When this happens I feel like it just adds to the stigma that we are “elderly mothers” which is just wrong in my opinion. I am 38 with my second and have had a completely normal pregnancy. I worked during my pregnancy and also took charge of a very demanding 8 yo… So, this post is for those of you who continue to fret and create anxiety for yourselves about being pregnant over 35…please don’t. If anything it just adds to the stigma that “we should not be having children this late in the game”.
