
Homemade Probiotic Ginger Beer 🫚🫙 Autumn is here, and for me, it’s the season of preservation and fermentation! 🍂✨ There’s something magical about bottling up the essence of summer’s harvest to enjoy through the chill of winter. 🌞❄️ One of my absolute favorites? Fermented ginger beer—it’s simple to make, full of gut-loving probiotics, and tastes far better than anything store-bought! 🫚🫧😊 Here’s how I make it: I start with a ginger bug by combining water, unrefined sugar, and diced ginger in a clean jar. Shake it up and keep it in a cozy spot for 24 hours. Then, feed it more ginger and sugar daily for about 3-5 days until it’s bubbling with activity! ✨ (Check out my dedicated video on this process—it’s packed with tips!) Once the ginger bug is ready, it’s time for the main event: ginger beer! Steps: 1️⃣ Add unrefined sugar and grated ginger to a pan of filtered water. Don’t worry about the sugar—it’s essential for fermentation and will mostly be absorbed to create that fizzy goodness! 🫧 2️⃣ Bring it to a boil, simmer for 10 minutes, and let it cool to room temperature. 3️⃣ Strain the mixture, then add the juice of 2 lemons and ½ cup of your strained ginger bug. 🍋 4️⃣ Pour it into sterilized bottles (round ones are ideal for managing pressure, but square bottles work too if burped regularly).
