Heidelberg is a really picturesque city in the south west of Germany. Can be visited as a day trip from Frankurt but it is well worth a longer stay! Situated on the Neckar river, it is also home to Heidelberg University, one of the oldest and most reputable in Europe. What you should visit for sure : 1. Heidelberg Castle - take the funicular up to the castle and see the city and Alte Brucke bridge view from the top 2. The famous Alte Brucke bridge - views from the bridge and of the bridge from pld town side are amazing 3. Beautiful entry gate to old town from the bridge side 4. Old Town 5. Marktplatz 6. Get a boat ride on the Neckr river 7.
