You should save this for sure, for your next trip to Germany! Heidelberg is a really picturesque city in the south west of Germany. We covered it as a day trip from Frankfurt, but it is well worth a longer stay. It is situated on the Neckar river and also home to Heidelberg University, one of the oldest and most reputable in Europe. What you should visit for sure : 1. Heidelberg castle - take the funicular up to the castle and see the city and bridge view from the top. 2. The famous Alte Brucke bridge - views from the bridge and of the bridge from old town side are amazing. 3. Beautiful entry gate to old town from this bridge end. 4. Old town 5. Marktplatz 6. Get a boat ride on the Neckr river 7.
