Investigations by the NGO Transparentem uncovered widespread child labor on cotton farms in Madhya Pradesh, India. These farms supply cotton to companies like H&M, Adidas, Inditex (Zara), Gap Inc, and many more. Children as young as six were found working under hazardous conditions, including exposure to toxic pesticides. In 2023, Ralph Lauren came under investigation by Canadian authorities for alleged use of forced labor involving Uyghur workers in China. Reports indicated that the company sourced products from suppliers linked to forced labor camps. Shein, is one of the worst offenders & continues to face scrutiny over broader labor practices, including allegations of forced labor and excessive working hours in its supplier factories.
