Dr Affan Masood Why is baby crying inconsolably? Sometimes it’s not “just crying” — it’s developmental. 👶 0–4 months: Colic Evening crying spells, clenched fists, pulling legs up, red face. Baby is otherwise healthy but cries for long stretches. Immature gut + overstimulation are common reasons. 🦷 4–10 months: Teething Irritability, drooling, chewing on everything, disturbed sleep. Gums may look swollen. Crying is usually on-and-off, worse at night. 😣 10–24 months: Temper tantrums Big emotions in a small body. Triggers are often decreased sleep, overexertion, hunger, or change in routine. They cannot express feelings clearly yet, so they cry loudly and intensely. Always rule out fever, infection, injury, or persistent vomiting.
