We all know that the society over here and from a time being has been a male dominant one where women, girls, ladies or any other synonyms you would like to join, have been given a set of rules and expectations to exist with. Women always have to pay a price or fight beyond their integrity to have what they desire or wish for. Even for small things they have to be ready with explanations. 'Unchained' by Pearl Vohra Bhatia is a book that brings forth the unhinged determination of women to be free of boundations put over them without their consent. The act of defiance and courage to finally break free from the expectations and how and what they should be in a society. This book is my story, your story and story of every woman who tried but failed, who thought but then agreed or who thought, tried, fought and found her life on her own terms. This is our story of stepping out of the meagre societal judgements and limitations. The author has highlighted the choices, the doubts that comes with it, the moment of fear and love for those women held dear, the defening sounds of invisible chains, the weight of expectations, judgements or how others want you to be and still the excitement of being free, the shiver of desiring something for your own and the thrill of achievement, of journey that will be difficult but surely and purely will be theirs.
