To be honest, Eid didn’t really go the way I had imagined. Between food poisoning and my monthly cycle, my body decided it needed rest more than celebrations. There were plans I missed, meals I couldn’t enjoy the way I wanted to, and even an outfit that stayed hanging for a little longer than planned. I spent Eid at my in-laws’ home. We had a big biryani lunch, followed by the most important Eid tradition A long afternoon nap. 😅 Later in the evening, we all went out for chai. We sat together, watched the sunset, enjoyed some snacks, and shared all the little wishes and hopes we have for the year ahead. The next day, I came back to my home and continued what felt like an endless food journey. Fish curry, fish fry, choru and all the comfort foods that instantly make me feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. And then yesterday happened. June 1 has always felt special somehow. Schools reopened, and my niece was getting ready for her first day back. I could have left earlier, but I wanted to stay. I wanted to see her get ready, watch her excitement, wave her goodbye, and hear all about her day when she came back…
