Happy Mother’s Day to the woman I can never truly thank enough in words. Somewhere between growing up, getting married, building a life, and fulfilling responsibilities, I forgot to give enough of myself back to the one person who gave me everything without ever asking for anything in return. I don’t call enough. I don’t meet you enough even though you’re so close. I prioritise everyone and everything else before I pause to prioritise you. And yet, somehow, you remain the first person I think of in every good moment and every bad one too. You are the first call I want to make when life feels beautiful, and the first voice I search for when life feels heavy. That kind of love can never be replaced. I look at the way you’ve lived your life — so selflessly, so gracefully, so quietly strong, never competing or comparing — and I realise how much of who I am comes from you. Your sacrifices were never loud, but they built our entire world. You gave endlessly, adjusted endlessly, loved endlessly… without ever making anyone feel the weight of it. You felt pride in the achievements of your husband & kids, never fighting for your own dreams despite being so talented yourself. And if there’s one thing I’m most proud of in life, it’s being your reflection. Even a small part of you in me feels like the biggest blessing. I know I fail at showing up enough, but please know this — no matter how caught up I get in life, you are my safe place, my comfort, my home.
