Yauatcha's A Night in Shanghai is honestly one of the most beautifully curated menus I’ve tried in a while — a little glimpse into the charm and flavours of 1930s Shanghai. We tried the Cha hu kok (Chicken char siu crispy taro puff) which was super crisp and flavourful, the Fat put phiu heong (Shrimps with sugar snap in sha cha sauce) that had the perfect balance of sweet–spicy notes, and the Noh mai bao (Ancient glutinous rice with fragrant garlic bun) — absolutely delicious . The Yang cao chow fan (Fried rice with vegetable char siu) paired so well with the Jin Yong Sam Pow (Stuffed three kingdoms with chicken paste in Black Bean Sauce). It was rich, bold and incredibly satisfying. The whole menu feels like a tribute to old Shanghai. It strikes that perfect balance between traditional Chinese flavours and modern refinement.
