Transportation 🚘 Charleston is a very walkable city, so you don’t need a car. There is also a free trolley that provides transportation throughout the historic district when visiting. Uber and Taxi services are easily available. But if you want to explore outside of downtown Charleston you can rent a car for a day. Where to stay? I stayed at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charleston-Ashley Phosphate, an IHG Hotel, it was a little far from the downtown so had to take the Uber to travel. The hotel was nice and affordable.
